Tonight's guest is the Honourable Minister Mitzie Hunter, the MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood and recently served as the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development. She has served as the Minister of Education and the Associate Minister of Finance, responsible for pension reform. She is the former CEO of the Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance.
To highlight some her politician achievement includes:
Becoming our province’s first Black Minister of Education in June 2016.
Severed two years as Toronto Community Housing’s first chief administrative officer, where she led the organization’s strategic and business support function.
She was first elected in a by-election on August 1, 2013, and later re-elected in the elections of 2014 and 2018. She represents the Toronto riding of Scarborough—Guildwood.
In March 2020, honourable Hunter ran for the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party
